We’ve had a mini heat wave the last few days at the farm, so a little extra TLC is in order to make sure we all stay cool and healthy. The ladies and gents all have shady spots they can retreat to in the hottest part of the day, and I make a couple of extra rounds to make sure the waterers are filled and to hand out treats so that everyone gets enough to eat. The sunny weather has been great for the garden, and we are in the midst of blueberry and raspberry picking season. I try to pick berries every couple of days, and I’ve been picking a quart of berries several times a week for the last few weeks. The bees have been very active on these warm days and hopefully they are putting away lots of honey for the winter, and maybe even a little more for us if we’re lucky!
